Inspect the relationship list
Use /following for yourself or user:<member>; /profile following offers the same list. Your own request can create an account, while a missing other account returns User not found. Read the names, titles, and origins shown, plus the footer: only the first 20 entries are listed, and Showing 20 of a larger total signals omissions. No entries yet describes this account’s current saved list. After an uncertain follow or unfollow, inspect both sides and ask staff if truncation or mismatched state prevents a clear decision.
